Muchisimas gracias, David. Special Period

editar

The picture you are inserting is from 2006. The article is about a different time period. NJGW (talk) 20:53, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

You are completely right, I should've thought about it. I have thousands of photos of Cuba, my country, and I want to share them. I am new to sharing in Wikipedia and I'm trying to learn. This article by the way, it's giving a vision of the Special Period that is not complete, it's very frustrating to see something like this because it was a period of darkness, and it still is today, 2008. I would like to see a more objective article. I will look for some photos of that period, any advise you can give me will be welcome. And where to complain about this article, also.
Thank you
I don't even know if this is the right way of answering your message, L
This is absolutely the way to answer. First may I suggest that if you plan on contributing significantly to Wikipedia, you might like to get an account (see wp:login). You don't have to, but it gives you some editing tools and options you don't have as an IP user (and it's free). Second, you should always sign your posts with ~~~~ (which changes automatically to your IP/username and the time & date). As for the article, I'm really glad you're interested in helping out. The article does seem a bit one sided, and I've only tried to do simple maintenance. From time to time editors come by with points of view which cloud their editing judgment, causing them to ignore the need on Wikipedia for using verifiable and reliable sources for any edits. As long as you stick to these Wikipedia principles, it sounds like you will be a huge asset to the project. Let me know if you have any other questions. I've also put some links that might be helpful at the top of this page. NJGW (talk) 21:20, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks so much for your answer. depending on my time I will be trying to contribute with the things I know about Cuba, I was a tour guide there, so I used to know a lot about the cities. It is true that a Cuban talking about Cuba will never be impartial, haha. It hurts too much. when I saw this article I wanted to explode. And I am not an extremist, I don't like being radical about anything.
But I promise I'll try to be reasonable and study all the links you sent me. I will be so happy to contribute.
No problem. FYI, if you give information that is definitely accurate and common knowledge in Cuba, you shouldn't need a citation. NJGW (talk) 23:17, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
By the way, NJGW, my photo was not good because it was from 2006, but have you notice the one there, in "Special Period" (both in English and in Spanish) is also from 2006? Sorry, I haven't had time to come back with some feedback but I am very busy at work. Please check this out, because it's not fair.--Lahabanera (discusión) 14:02 10 ago 2008 (UTC)Responder
The Special period was so bad, without food or clothes or anything basic, that nobody had cameras or films for the cameras to shoot and have proof of how things were. So I don't think we will have photos easily. Besides the government justifies the lack of maintenance with the Special Period, when the reality is that this has being going on since 1959, the conditions of the infrastructure in Cuba is not a matter of ten years, it's a matter of half a century. I hope my time allows me to make the information better.--Lahabanera (discusión) 13:54 10 ago 2008 (UTC)Responder
