  • Entity Schemas: Continuing to investigate and prototype technical approaches for version 2
  • Mismatch Finder: Working on giving mismatch providers access to the reviews of the mismatches they uploaded (phab:T304794)
  • Investigated how to best do language switching for the Query Builder and Mismatch Finder. So far they only support it by specifying the language via a URL parameter and not yet via the UI (phab:T324653)
  • Query Service:
    • Lexeme IDs now have tooltips so you can see the Lemma in the SPARQL code, similar as for Items and Properties (phab:T255245)
    • Fixed a bug where the y-axis label on a graph were misaligned and hard to read (phab:T325808)
  • Lexicographical data:
    • Statements linking to a Sense now also show the language of the Lexeme to make it easier to see for example which language a translation statement refers to (phab:T207392)

Cambios de esta semana

• La vista previa en tiempo real para wikicódigo es una herramienta que permite a las personas previsualizar la página cuando están editando en wikicódigo. Se habilitará para todas las personas que usen el editor de wikitexto 2010. Encontrarás la opción en la barra de herramientas del editor.
• Algunas wikis estarán en modo de solo lectura por algunos minutos debido al cambio de un switch en sus bases de datos principales. Este cambio se producirá el 10 enero a las 07:00 UTC (wikis afectadas) y 12 enero a las 07:00 UTC (wikis afectadas).

Pestaña de trasladar

En el mensaje de arriba pone: Una página wiki puede ser trasladada al renombrar la página. Ahora existe un menú con las razones más comunes para mover una página. Con esta mejora no tendrás que escribir la explicación cada vez que traslades una página. Pésima mejora: en el menú desplegable el texto está en inglés y ni siquiera puedo entrar en el recuadro del motivo para cambiar el texto. Dodecaedro (discusión) 14:55 16 ene 2023 (UTC)

En unos días ya debería estar traducido (no recuerdo cuánto demoran en llegar las traducciones). Y siempre puedes escribir el motivo que prefieras en el recuadro de más abajo. ZebaX2010 [PRESS START] 16:05 16 ene 2023 (UTC)

MediaWiki:Movereasonotherlist (es) y MediaWiki:Moveotherreason (es) no aparecen todavía traducidos, pero están preparados para la próxima actualización. Sin embargo Dodecaedro lleva cierta razón en que los motivos adicionales son mínimos y la lista (el resto de la lista desplegable: el título «Common move reasons» y la opción «Misspeled title») ni está configurada ni traducida. Y el problema es que estos resúmenes en inglés ya se están usando por usuarios con menor o mayor experiencia. -- Leoncastro (discusión) 16:34 16 ene 2023 (UTC)

Por cierto, gracias a Geom, ahora tenemos configuradas en MediaWiki:Movepage-reason-dropdown (es) dos opciones —en español—, como son el genérico «Error en el título» —en lugar de «Título mal escrito»— y la nueva opción concreta «Fusión de historiales». La Comunidad podría decidir opciones adicionales concretas, como por ejemplo se me ocurren «Desambiguando» —para agregar una aclaración—, o «Aclaración innecesaria» —para retirarla—, así como alguna opción para traslado de talleres, o un básico «Error ortográfico» —más concreto que un «Error en el título»—. -- Leoncastro (discusión) 20:21 16 ene 2023 (UTC)

Gracias por la mención, Leoncastro. Llevaba varios días fusionando gran cantidad de artículos y me estaba crujiendo este apartado en inglés. Al hacer el cambio no me di cuenta que estaba creando la sección y había pensado venir a consultar al café. Primero, añadir más posibles motivos para un traslado. Problemas

• Las direcciones URL con los enlaces "ant" en página de Historial ahora tienen el código diff=prev&oldid=[revision ID] en lugar de diff=[revision ID]&oldid=[revision ID]. La nueva versión es un desastre, no deberían activarla aqui hasta que la corrijan. Aclaro que esto lo noté en Wikidata que, según el calendario, fue actualizada el día 17 de enero. Si ingreso desde un navegador móvil (en mi caso Brave) y me paso a la versión de escritorio a partir del botón que se encuentra al pie de cada página (mi forma habitual de edición de los últimos años), el sitio se rompe. Pueden pasar una de dos cosas: o bien la página colapsa hasta ocupar solo la mitad izquierda de la pantalla, o se expande pero conservando las proporciones anteriores, lo que significa que ahora cada elemento es el doble de grande (incluida la tipografía). En ambos casos varios elementos comienzan a superponerse y ya no es posible navegar, editar o siquiera leer cómodamente. Por ejemplo, la barra de búsqueda se ubica tras el ícono del sitio, que al pulsarlo te lleva directo a la Home Page. En otras palabras: no es posible utilizar el buscador. Los enlaces a tu página de usuario, discusión, lista de seguimiento, etc., han colapsado hasta ocupar el mismo sitio. Y, en las propiedades de los elementos, el texto puede quedar totalmente en vertical, con solo una letra por línea, volviéndolo ilegible. ¿Cómo puedo reportar eso? ¿Será que es para empujarnos a usar Vector 2022? A mí me pasa lo mismo en Wikidata (usando Chrome desde el móvil), pero no en mediawiki.org, que ya tiene Vector 2022 por defecto y según el calendario ya migró a la nueva versión de MediaWiki el 16 de enero. –FlyingAce^✈hola 18:04 18 ene 2023 (UTC)

Problems

• Last week, for ~15 minutes, all wikis were unreachable for logged-in users and non-cached pages. This was caused by a timing issue. [9]

Changes later this week

• The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 24 January. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 25 January. It will be on all wikis from 26 January (calendar).
• If you have the Beta Feature for DiscussionTools enabled, the appearance of talk pages will add more information about discussion activity. [10][11]
• The 2023 edition of the Community Wishlist Survey (CWS), which invites contributors to make technical proposals and vote for tools and improvements, starts on Monday 23 January 2023 at 18:00 UTC.

  • A citation hunt program was organized for secondary school students at IIS School in Dubai as part of the 74th Republic Day celebration of India. 16 students participated, with different mother tongues and from different states of India living as expatriates in Dubai. The goal was to increase references for Wikidata statements based on research. The students were introduced to the importance of protecting India's history on the internet, and were taught how to edit Wikipedia and Wikidata. They were given a special event page on Wikidata with instructions and a list of Wikidata items to add citations to, and they searched for references in their textbooks and search engines to add to the Wikidata items.More details are given here.
  • Next Linked Data for Libraries LD4 Wikidata Affinity Group Working Hour January 30, 2023: The #1Lib1Ref campaign is afoot, so we will be working on adding references to Wikidata statements. We'll have some data for you to work with, but you're welcome to bring your own. We'll be mainly working with adding webpages as sources, but if you want to get experience using books or articles as sources, we recommend bringing some to the session to use as references for Wikidata items you have identified. Problemas

• La nueva versión de MediaWiki se instalará en los wikis de prueba y en MediaWiki.org el 31 enero. Se instalará en wikis que no son Wikipedias y en algunas Wikipedias a partir del 1 febrero y en las restantes a partir del 2 febrero (calendario).

Cambios futuros

• Las wikis que han adaptado los esquemas de números de citas para las referencias necesitan añadir un nuevo CSS. Esto permitirá mostrar los números de las citas del mismo modo para el modo lectura como el modo edición. Si tu comunidad desea hacerlo por ustedes mismos, pueden ver los detalles y los CSS de ejemplo para copiarlos desde aquí, y también añadir tu wiki a la lista. De otro modo, los desarrolladores ayudarán con esta tarea iniciando la semana del 5 de febrero.

Proyectos sobre la experiencia de las personas novatas

El equipo de Crecimiento se asoció con otros equipos de la WMF para realizar varios experimentos en torno al aumento de la creación de cuentas y la retención de las personas que acaban de empezar a editar. Ya están disponibles los resultados de cuatro de estos experimentos:

• Páginas de agradecimiento y banners - Animar a quienes realizan donaciones a crear cuentas a través de páginas de agradecimiento y banners.
• Experimento de marketing - Publicación de anuncios dentro y fuera de la wiki para ver cómo afecta a la activación de cuentas.
• Eventos GLAM "Añadir una imagen" - Organice eventos GLAM centrados en el uso de la herramienta "Añadir una imagen".
• E-mails de bienvenida - Experimento con el envío de correos electrónicos de bienvenida a las cuentas recién creadas.

Tareas para personas novatas

• Varias comunidades han recomendado mejorar "añadir un enlace", sugiriendo primero los artículos con menos enlaces. Hemos lanzado este cambio en las wikis piloto de Crecimiento. Revisaremos los datos y recabaremos opiniones antes de considerar su difusión a más wikis. [13]
• La activación de "añadir un enlace" en todas las Wikipedias aún está en curso. Los enlaces sugeridos utilizan un modelo de predicción, que debe ser entrenado. Las implantaciones se reanudarán cuando terminemos de preparar todos los modelos. [14]

Mentoría

• Cuando alguien quiere inscribirse como mentor/a, ahora se le informa si no cumple con los criterios definidos'. [15]
• Las personas anfitrionas de talleres nos pidieron que les asignáramos a ellas quienes asisten a dichos talleres. Pronto podrán utilizar un parámetro URL personalizado. De este modo, las personas anfitrionas de los talleres podrán seguir asesorando a quienes hayan asistido después del taller. Estará disponible en febrero. [16]
• ¿Has pensado en ayudar a las personas recién llegadas a tu wiki inscribiéndote como mentor/a?
  • Visita Special:MentorDashboard para comprobar los requisitos para convertirte en mentor/a e inscribirte.
  • Si tu wiki no tiene habilitada la Mentoría, considera configurarla. El equipo de Crecimiento puede proporcionar consejo y ayudar en lo que sea necesario. Por favor, menciona a Trizek (WMF) para recibir asistencia.
