  • In the frame of a Google Summer of Code project a new tool, called WikidataComplete was created. The tool smoothly integrates in the Wikidata UI and proposes new statements extracted by machine learning algorithms. Editors are asked to either approve or reject them. • Development
  • Continued work on the Mismatch Finder. We are now working on creating the page where mismatches will be listed for review.
  • Worked on support for "separators" parameter for distinct value constraints (phab:T277855)
  • Made it possible to restrict constraints to certain entity types (phab:T269724)
  • Added a new constraint type to ensure that the Item has a label in a particular language (phab:T195178)
  • Added a button for the Query Builder to query.wikidata.org to make the Query builder discoverable (phab:T276210) - integration in the example dialog is still in progress (phab:T280229)
  • We started work on some behind-the-scenes improvements to the way Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects are notified about a change that affects their articles. (They need this notification so the article can be purged and show the latest data from Wikidata again. It is also required for showing the edit in the watchlist and recent changes on those wikis. This should have no visible impact for editors but is needed maintenance work.

Recent changes

• The wikis that have Growth features deployed have been part of A/B testing since deployment, in which some newcomers did not receive the new features. Now, all of the newcomers on 21 of the smallest of those wikis will be receiving the features. [2]

Changes later this week

• There is no new MediaWiki version this week.

Future changes

• In 2017, the provided jQuery library was upgraded from version 1 to 3, with a compatibility layer. The migration will soon finish, to make the site load faster for everyone. If you maintain a gadget or user script, check if you have any JQMIGRATE errors and fix them, or they will break. [3][4]
• Last year, the Portuguese Wikipedia community embarked on an experiment to make log-in compulsory for editing.  The impact report of this trial is ready. Moving forward, the Anti-Harassment Tools team is looking for projects that are willing to experiment with restricting IP editing on their wiki for a short-term experiment. Learn more.

• La herramienta de resaltado de sintaxis marca el código con diferentes colores. Ahora reconoce 23 nuevos lenguajes de código. Además, ahora puede usarse golang como un alias para el lenguaje de programación Go, y se añadió un modo especial output para mostrar la salida del programa. [9][10]

• Development
  • The new Streaming Updater for Wikidata Query Service will be in production 18 Oct 2021
  • Working on changing the way sitelinks to Wikimedia Commons are created from Item data; now using topic's main category (P910) and category related to list (P1754) before Commons category (P373) (T232927)
  • Continuing the work on the Mismatch Finder. This week we focused on the remaining groundwork for showing the first mismatches for review.
  • Continuing to work on improvements to the underlying system of how edits are propagated from Wikidata to the other Wikimedia projects.
  • Implemented two improvements for constraints: the “distinct values” constraint type now supports the “separator” parameter (phab:T277855) and we no longer check qualifiers on some unusual™ properties (phab:T235292)
  • Adding tags to some of the remaining UI edits that didn't get them yet for edits on Lexemes (phab:T290950)

Cambios recientes

• Las funciones Growth ya están instaladas en casi todas las Wikipedias. Para la mayor parte de las Wikipedias de menor tamaño, las funciones sólo están disponibles para lo usuarios veteranos, para probar las funciones y configurarlas. Las funciones estarán disponibles para los usuarios nuevos a partir del 20 de septiembre de 2021.
• MediaWiki contaba con una característica que destacaba los enlaces locales a artículos breves con un estilo diferente. Cada usuario podía elegir el tamaño hasta el cual podían considerarse «esbozos» para destacarlos. Esta característica era perjudicial para el rendimiento, por lo que luego de una consulta, esta ha sido eliminada. [12]
• Se realizó un cambio técnico a la piel MonoBook para que sea más fácil y menos costoso mantenerla. Esto supuso realizar unos cambios menores al HTML para hacer que el HTML de MonoBook sea consistente con el de otras pieles. Se han hecho esfuerzos para reducir el impacto sobre los editores, pero avise a Jon (WMF) en wiki o en phabricator en caso de detectar algún problema.

Problemas

• La semana pasada hubo un problema con las búsquedas. Muchas peticiones de búsquedas no funcionaron durante dos horas debido a un reinicio accidental del servidor de búsquedas. [13]

Cambios de esta semana

• La nueva versión de MediaWiki se instalará en los wikis de prueba y en MediaWiki.org el 21 septiembre. Se instalará en wikis que no son Wikipedias y en algunas Wikipedias a partir del 22 septiembre y en las restantes a partir del 23 septiembre (calendario).
• La interfaz de programación de aplicaciones meta=proofreadpage tuvo un cambio. El parámetro piprop ha sido renombrado como prpiprop. Los usuarios de la interfaz de programación pueden actualizar su código para evitar advertencias de parámetros desconocidos. Los usuarios de Pywikibot deberán actualizar a la versión 6.6.0. [14]

Cambios futuros

• La herramienta de respuesta se instalará en las wikis restantes en las próximas semanas. Actualmente es parte de «Herramientas de discusión» en Funciones beta en la mayoría de las wikis. Podrá activarla o desactivarla en las preferencias de edición. [15]
• El cambio anunciado anteriormente para cómo obtener fichas (tokens) para la interfaz de programación de aplicaciones se pospuso para el 21 de septiembre debido a una incompatibilidad con Pywikibot. Los operadores de robots que usan Pywikibot pueden seguir el ticket T291202 para el progreso de una corrección y deberían preparar una actualización a la versión 6.6.1 cuando sea publicada.

  • Working on fixing an issue where two Properties could have the same label in a given language (phab:T289473)
  • Working on preventing a few more cases where two Items could have the same sitelink (phab:T291377)
  • Mismatch Finder: Continuing to work on showing mismatches on the results page so that they can be reviewed
  • Continuing to work on technical improvements to how changes on Wikidata are propagated to Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects

Cambios recientes

• iOS 15 tiene una nueva función llamada Retransmisión privada (sitio web de Apple). Esta puede ocultar la dirección IP del usuario cuando usa el navegador web Safari. Esto es como usar una red privada virtual en la que en su lugar vemos otra dirección IP. Se activa a petición del usuario y solamente para quienes paguen un adicional por iCloud. Estará disponible para los usuarios de Safari en OSX más adelante. Existe una conversación técnica sobre lo que esto significa para las wikis de Wikimedia.

Problemas

• Algunos accesorios y scripts de usuario añaden elementos a la parte de los portlets (herramientas del artículo) de las pieles. Pudo ocurrir que esos enlaces cambiaran su tamaño de fuente debido a un cambio reciente en el código HTML. Esto se corregirá al añadir la clase CSS .vector-menu-dropdown-noicon. [16]

Cambios de esta semana

• La nueva versión de MediaWiki se instalará en los wikis de prueba y en MediaWiki.org el 28 septiembre. Se instalará en wikis que no son Wikipedias y en algunas Wikipedias a partir del 29 septiembre y en las restantes a partir del 30 septiembre (calendario).
• La extensión Getting Started se construyó en 2013 para ofrecer un proceso de inducción para los poseedores de cuentas nuevas en algunas versiones de Wikipedia. Sin embargo, las funciones de Growth desarrolladas recientemente proporcionan una mejor experiencia de inducción. Debido a que la gran mayoría de las Wikipedias ahora tienen acceso a las funciones de Growth, GettingStarted será desactivada a partir del 4 de octubre. [17]
• Un número reducido de usuarios no podrá conectarse a las wikis de Wikimedia después del 30 de septiembre debido a que un certificado raíz antiguo ya no funcionará. También podrán tener problemas con muchos otros sitios web. Es muy poco probable que los usuarios que hayan actualizado su software en los últimos cinco años tengan problemas. Es poco probable que los usuarios en Europa, África y Asia tengan problemas inmediatos aún si su software es muy antiguo. Puede informarse más en este enlace.
• Ahora puede recibir notificaciones cuando alguien deja un comentario en páginas de discusión de usuario o le mencionan en un comentario de una página de discusión. Hacer clic en el enlace de la notificación ahora dirigirá hacia el comentario y lo destacará. Antes, hacer eso llevaba al inicio de la sección en la que se encontraba el comentario. Cambios futuros

• La herramienta de respuesta se instalará en las wikis restantes en las próximas semanas. Actualmente es parte de "Herramientas de discusión" en funciones beta en la mayoría de las wikis. Puede deshabilitarse en las preferencias de edición. Véase la lista de wikis. [18]

Revisión artículo en taller: Rosario Raro

Hola @Sabbut estoy colaborando con Cuarto Propio en la realización de biografías de mujeres. Algunas tenían problemas como la de María del Valle Rubio, que ya la publiqué con la ayuda de MiguelAlánCS y ésta de Rosario Raro que está en mi taller.
