Cate Blanchett es una actriz de cine, televisión y teatro y productora de cine que ha tenido una extensa carrera en la pantalla. Hizo su debut teatral en 1992, como Electra en la producción del Instituto Nacional de Arte Dramático de la obra del mismo nombre, Electra,[1] y siguió en 1993 con actuaciones en Kafka Dances de Timothy Daly, por la que ganó el Premio de la Crítica Sydney Theatre a la Mejor Actriz Revelación, y la producción teatral de la Sydney Theatre Company de Oleanna, ganando Mejor Actriz. Es la primera actriz en ganar ambos premios a la vez.[2] Luego interpretó varios otros papeles en el escenario, en particular Susan Traherne en Plenty (1999), Hedda Gabler en Hedda Gabler (2004), Blanche DuBois en Un tranvía llamado deseo (2009), Yelena en Uncle Vanya (2011) y Claire en Las criadas (2013).[3]
